Olera Heights Housing Development
When construction of the Olera Heights Development in San Fernando began in 2002, it was with the view of fulfilling the Government of Trinidad and Tobago's vision to provide affordable housing to the citizens of this southern city, while at the same time not sacrificing comfort and quality. The result was a 224, two-bedroom apartment complex, completed in 2007, with all the comforts of home, including tiled floors, spacious living and kitchen accommodation and full bathroom facilities. Each apartment building has been named after the first inhabitants of the island - the Amerindians. When completed, these homes were handed over to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), who distributed the keys to enthusiastic homeowners at a ceremony held on the grounds of the complex in March 2008.
UDeCOTT is developing the structures that form part of Vision 2020,
the development plan of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
