Restoration of President’s Cottage
Located north of Trinidad's capital city, Port of Spain and opposite to the Queen's Park Savannah, President's Cottage is an annexe, which forms part of the official residence of the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
In order to preserve many of the charming, historical features of the original bungalow, a complete facelift was required, which included works being done on the roof timbers, tiles and guttering, and extensive interior upgrades, including: tiling, plumbing, carpentry and joinery, electrical and air conditioning repairs. Since its completion in November 2005, visitors entering the refurbished Cottage on the newly paved driveway are greeted with a breathtaking view of lush landscaping and a grand, new, pool terrace and pavilion. Inside, the residence is fitted with a vast array of luxurious interior furnishings, including draperies, carpeting and rugs, furniture and art work. Additionally, the Cottage has also been outfitted with practical amenities, including a wheelchair access ramp, storage facilities for water and fuel, and an emergency power generator. The Refurbishment of President's Cottage was completed in November 2005.
UDeCOTT is developing the structures that form part of Vision 2020,
the development plan of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
